Our Friends Beneath the Sea
by Brenda Ehmka

The dolphin should be man's best friend
Along with dog as well,
So much is buried in their minds
If only they could tell.

They swim around the ocean blue
In the hopes they'll find a friend,
For like the dog, they too will stay
True blue until the end.

A human is good company
To play with by the shore,
We've been together other times
They've been our friends before.

Their gentle dispositions
Are a chance for us to see,
If we could ever understand
Our friends beneath the sea.

In trying to communicate
They speak with muted sound,
The intelligence they've shown us
It really does astound.

We know there's something special
That they're trying to let us know,
The secrets of our ocean friends
Might help us all to grow...
